I truly don't get it. We had heavy snow all winter, but would it just kill random areas of my lawn? I overseeded in the late summer/early fall with TTTF, did it not survive?I had a creeping bentgrass problem, could that be what this is? I'm hoping that if someone can ID the grass I may get an idea of what happened.

I had some similar looking dead grass in my back yard this spring. I was pretty sure it was Zoysia from my neighbors yard that doesn't do well in the north. its tilled 6" under now or i'd take some pics to compare. Could yours be some kind of warm season weed?

I definitely don't see it in anyone else's yard. I thought it was something that may have been mixed into the seed I used in the fall but it can't be. I did the backyard too and its nice and green. No issues.

It kind of looks like it rakes up like bentgrass does. Hard to tell though. Might be a mix of bent and FF. Did you ever decide what you are going to do about overseeding/pre e?
Bought Lesco Starter Fert and plan to do a blanket spray of Tenacity. I may rent an aerator (never been done on my lawn) and throw down more TTTF seed. I'll repeat Tenacity a couple weeks later in any highlighted spots and then after the new seed gross put down dithiopyr.

Hopefully that plan makes sense..😆
