What kind of sod and how much? Its about to finally start staying cooler here but Id think even bermuda sod would do ok in the 80s. Its just those lows Id wonder about.

 

Palisades is what I’m thinking. 3500 square feet.

 

I would think that would do ok. You could always ask the sod farm you are getting it from on their opinion.

 

You can pretty much lay warm-season sod any time of the year. It will be slower to establish but it'll be just fine.

FWIW... we will be putting down almost 15K sf of Palisades at my church next weekend here in Panama City.

What is the consensus of adding plant growth regulator to new sod to push root growth? Especially this late in the year.

 

I can't speak to pgr .... but I'd be using a quick release granual fertilizer or foliar spray application fertilizer. One with a lower "N" and a bit higher "P & K". The P will help push root growth and development. The K will help cell structure and ability to store food better. I'd break monthly application rates down to weekly amounts to try and maximize plant intake as much as possible.

I wouldn't do it. Let your sod establish naturally, using fertilizer as @PhxHeat mentioned.
