I know the label says that using marker could make the chemical less effective. I want to put a blanket coverage over the yard, but due to my yard size and shape, I'd need to use the dye to make sure I get all the spots. Have you guys had any negative issues when using Celsius with the marker dye?

Celsius isn't labeled for Poa and doesn't work on it. Certainty might but not sure about its effectiveness. Out of the products labeled for Poa, I'm not sure which ones are the most effective. (Certainty, 3-way products, monument, katana, etc.)

What weeds are you targeting?
Poa particularly, but some other grassy weeds as well. Certainty seems to do better for poa for me.
Monument will make quick work of the healthiest Poa plants without dinging bermuda.
What is Katana and Monuments targeted applications? I seem to hear them referred to regularly and usually for the same type of application. They both are expensive as hell (for a home owner) because I'm assuming they aren't off patent. But does one have a clear advantage over the other?

@Movingshrub Well I'm more asking if you were going to buy one or the other of Katana or Monument which would you get? They both get lumped into the same group of sedge, poe killers.

like why would you ever use Dismiss, quicksilver, blindside, sedgehammer, certainty over monument or katana if you want to kill sedges? Katana and Monument are both fairly expensive (1k sqft of treatment is like 20$) vs 2-3$ for the others. Are Monument and Katana quicker killers? Less restrictions for temperatures? Just better control all around?

Monument is not a quick killer of sedge - Sulfentrazone is, however. But from a Poa standpoint, Monument is my go-to. If you have a Poa / sedge / kyllinga problem, Monument is probably the best treatment option. If it's just sedges / kyllinga, Sulfentrazone is your best bet.

Ah, @thegrassfactor has a good video explaining the differences.

For poa, I think monument, revolver, and katana are the most effective. Katana is cheaper in cost per application. Dismiss can have a pre-em effect on sedges with broadcast applications. Quicksilver will go after moss, can be used really early after seeding, and helps with fast burn down of weeds.

Off the top of my head, if I was to start over for post-emergents, I probably would have purchased a three way, glyphosate, and then katana or revolver. I don't know if I would have bothered with Celsius. The primary upside of Celsius in my eyes is that it's temp friendly, controls a lot, and works with pretty much every warm season grass. With that being said, I have Celsius, Three-way, Certanity, Monument, Image, Glyphosate, Princep, and don't regret purchasing any of them. The Certainty isn't used often but that's because it did a great, and very cost effective, job at controlling my sedges.
