Need some advice. We just built a new home and the builder is sodding the entire yard. Looking at neighboring lots that were recently sodded the sod is TTTF and loaded with weeds. I have already purchased elite KBG seed.
Unfortunately the builder is forcing us to take the sod in order to pass the county standards for stabilization and lot grading. My thought was to immediately spray herbicide to kill off the lawn and not water. Scalp the sod once dead, spread topsoil to level and provide seed bed. Seed it, roll it in and top dress with peat moss.
Does anyone see anything wrong with this process? Any lurking disasters or experience with a similar scenario?
In my head it would just be treated as typical reno. But when things seem to easy they generally are..
