Hi all,
Looking for your opinion on the best way to dethatch a heavily thatch KBG lawn. I bought a new place last fall and the thatch layer is like 3-4 inches thick, no exaggeration. I used a green works dethatcher this spring and really tore up the lawn with it after a couple passes. The machine burned out on me midway through a 3rd pass. The lawn has taken all spring and summer to heal and it's still healing in spots. There is still a lot of thatch. What's your opinion? Rent a power rake this fall? Rent a slice seeder to verticut? Try a liquid dethatcher? Aerate the hell out of it for a bunch of seasons? All of the above?
Thanks!
