Reading through experiences here on the forums, it seems that the Ehtofumesate + Atrazine combo doesn't provide effective control of Bermuda anyway, right?

I hope the rumor is true, too. I installed CitraBlue last month and some of the sod was infested with Bermuda. I've got some brown patches in my front yard from where I painted the Bermuda with Glyphosate to kill it before rooted. Recognition would've been nice to have.

It worked for me, but it was a pain for sure. Got pretty ugly. I posted before/after that was pretty impressive.

This is a potential game changer for Zoysia lawns. Super excited about this announcement.

 

i was at a university field day last week, and the turfgrass team was testing the fusilade + safener on St. Aug. i was able to closely inspect the test plots. the desired turf was completely unharmed, the bermuda was bleached out, but it will require multiple treatments. i even got a chance to talk to the professor about it, and he mentioned it was time for another application. i'm very excited about it

It's still not out to market. I'll update the thread if I hear an update about availability. Last I heard it'll be available fall of 2023.

I fired up the old twitter burner to go message the guys in the posts shown above. DM response was "Yes. Recognition herbicide comes out this spring." Keep your eyes peeled!

 

Wonder if it will be pre-mixed with fusilade or we buy that separate.

Thoughts on going with Ethofumesate & Simazine now or waiting for Recognition? Any updated release date rumors?

 

I suggest using systemic fungicides while treating the infestation using this method. I didn’t and was surprised by a nasty fungus.

 

Spoke with a tech at syngenta about Ricognition and they said not till next year 2024 sometime. He also mentioned that it would include the ingredients of Trifloxysulfuron + safener of some type , not sure what that is.
I definitely can't wait for FDA approval of toxic substance and have to use something for now.

 

That stinks! I will have to use the Fusilade II and Triclopyr mixture this year again to try and eradicate or severely suppress the Bermuda spots in my Zoysia for this year.

 

So sorry to hear about the delayed Ricognition rollout. It sounded like the solution to my problems. Bermuda is slowly but surely invading patches of my zoysia.
Hey Syngenta, are you looking for beta testers ????

 

I started this last year, and it worked, but I didn't treat 3 xs starting in June, but only once and saw significant stunting of the Bermuda sections in my Zoysia lawn.
I will be using this treatment starting end of May for 4 months to try and eradicate the few sections I have and if Syngenta finally releases this new wonder product next year, I may not need it.

So it looks like the Bermuda control will only be in Zosia lawns and broadleaf weeds in St Augustine

 

Now all I need/want is a URL for where I can purchase Recognition! Come on Syngenta, enough teasing.
And on top of controlling Bermuda, it can control Sedges, Poa Annua, and other stubborn perennial weeds that still sprout up in spite of pre-emergent applications.

It looks like you can't use this on the St. Augustine Captiva sod variety, which I think I have. Very curious to hear updates from everyone if this stuff works!
