Hello all,

I live in San Antonio and am trying to get this lawn back in shape, my general knowledge from past posts is to apply a Pre emergent such as Dimension or Prodiamine to the lawn to manage the weeds I have, but all my research claims it's too late in the season for that. Any tips would be nice! Thanks!

See this video for quick walkthrough of lawn @ around 7:30-8pm

Definitely looks like St Augustine. As far as pre emergents go yes you missed the opportune time to put it down but late is still better than never.

It looks like the shaded area, where the grass looks good, held water better than the left side of the yard. St A doesn't do great with drought stress so some probably died off but it still looks like there is some there.

It's actually better to water less often but to put more water down. A good starting point is to water 1" a week all at once. Depending on your soil type this may or not be possible but is a good starting point.

Celsius and Dismiss are allegedly tolerated better in hot water but I wouldn't wait even until next week to do it. Before you spray through wait for somebody smarter than me to chime in.

Prodaimine needs to be watered into the soil. Celsius needs to be absorbed through the leaf. It would probably be best to do two separate applications. Has anyone combined the two, applied, then waited a day before watering in?

Thanks for the advise. Sounds like I need to wait until it dries off a bit before Celsius. I'm down in Florida and it has rained every day for almost a month and looks like it will continue for at least another week.
