[Still learnin]

Ever since I seeded our yard from scratch, I've had this annoying fescue variety of weed that pops up randomly all over the yard. It is a lighter green/yellow and grows a lot faster than my other fescue. I have no idea what it is. I'm assuming it's a variety of fescue but would appreciate any help in identifying.

It might be annual rye, which is included either intentionally or unintentionally in many seed mixtures.

Fast growing and yellow could also be quack. Let's hope it's not quack.

Not that I have observed. It's mostly small patches of one or two plants.

My vote is for annual rye. That or orchardgrass. But I'd lean more toward annual rye.

Hum. I thought rye would die in the summer here. Guess whatever it is I should just paint it with roundup huh?

Those are 2 different weeds. Picture set #2 gets my vote on orchard grass. The vernation is folded in the second set, while picture #2 of the first set has a rolled vernation.
