Is it recommended to aerate the same year you seed renovate?
Or do I wait until next spring?

With a mature lawn, you could aerate 3-4 times a year if you wanted/needed.
If I had a newly seeded lawn, I would wait until it's been growing at least one full season and I had a solid pre-emergent program in place.
Take that advice with a grain of salt. I've never seeded a lawn or done a full lawn aeration before. :beer:
