Hi everyone, can someone tell me what they think this might be. it's my Reno of Kentucky bluegrass. I'm in a transition zone a lot of the grass has not pulled out of sprout and pout all of a sudden we had high heat in the high 80s. The areas that received afternoon shade seem to do much better however I did use a starter fertilizer about 3 weeks ago along with some Milo. about 2 weeks ago I put down some calcitic lime.. I was thinking that might have been the problem was low ph. Test showed ph at 5.6 the calcetic lime said the bag was good for 400 square feet. I put the whole bag on my 600 square feet it's supposed to have raise the pH of 0.5. Did it burn my roots??( I just sent for a new test) I put down 2 pounds of the Scott's starter fertilize 24-25-04 three weeks ago.. (bag said 3 pound per 1000 sqfeet.) I also use some spray root riot about 2 weeks ago..

MikeD, the images are very fussy and hard to see what is wrong. What is your current temperature?

The lime, how many pounds of what lime you use? Normally we avoid lime on young grass.

Have you applied the starter twice or once since seed down?

I used encap fast acting lime 2.5 lbs on 600sq feet.. the bag said covers 400 square feet.. the temperatures were in the 80s to 88s for about the last 3 weeks today's the first day we hit low 70s.. I put the starter fertilizer down the same day as seed and then fertilize again at the 3-week point. Scott's starter fertilizer 2lbs of 24-25-04 Germination took place about 6 days. I was watering every other day. I can see some of the white pellets left from the lime but not very much. I took about 20 pictures at different times of the day but that's about the best my camera can do. I called encap they said it was a calctic lime..

The fuzzy photos you uploaded are probably due to smudges and debris on the lens, as opposed to a shortcoming of the camera.
Try cleaning it with a lens-cleaning wipe, or a microfiber cloth. I'll bet it takes much more detailed photos at that point.
