Tried to take a soil sample. Probe only made it 1 inch. Ground still frozen.

 

I washed interior and exterior of the cars lots of rock salt. I did pull the lawnmowers out of the garage needed to go up in the attic getting a little water in a new window everything looks good up there but being close to 61 it's not fun going up there. Lawn is dormant but soon it will be time for a cleanup and some pre m

 

Cleaning up edges with edging shovel. I have an electric edger but find a manual edging shovel/spade (kobalt) in the very end of winter really leaves things nice and clean.

 

Put down 60 lbs of a new moss control fertilizer. Its 13.5% ferrous sulphate. Hoping it deals with my moss issue enough that my verticutting reels remove most of it.

Raked some leaves. I was tempted to mow, we still have soil temps in the 30s, maybe pushing 40s. Weather will be great next week but will be on vacation. Probably getting started a week later than I'd like in terms of getting a mow in but such is life. Frontyard definitely felt like I could mow without issues, backyard still felt quite spongy so I would wait another week or so regardless.

I should have mowed the front. Now it will be on my mind while sipping beers poolside. Does that make me crazy?

Broadcasted late winter dormant overseed grass seed in lawn thin areas.

 

Pulled dome soil plugs to put together a bag to head off to testing. Lawn is looking thin!

Repurposed small diameter cut tree trunks as lawn edging borders.

 

Pulled out the Sunjoe Dethatcher and cleaned up the Winter mess. This was a particularly hard Winter, so it was desperately needed. A day later we got over an inch of rain, and I'm already starting to see a decent greenup. I wish I had time to put down pre-emergent. Now I'll have to wait for another rain to come.
