I have a new lawn, last year I cut down around 30 trees and since turf was prohibitively expensive for my size lawn I went with seed instead. Of course what happened is the weeds came up far faster than the lawn. So I now have a Centipede lawn that is approximately 30% weeds. I know the best way to kill them is with a liquid selective herbicide (I've been researching Celsius XTRA), but for my size lawn with a little pump sprayer on my back that seems unrealistic.
Is there no granular form that I can broadcast spread on my yard at least for the initial knockdown and then spot weed with the liquid stuff. I think the main problem in my yard is Florida Beggar Weed and Spurge, but I'm no weed expert.
Below are pictures of the main weeds I am dealing with. The one with the purple flowers is the worst, it seems like not a single blade of grass can get through where that stuff is growing. I have been mowing low and hoping Centipede eventually chokes this stuff out, but I would like to speed the process up if I can kill the weeds. I am also trying to find the least dangerous option for weed control, so nothing with 2-4-D or Glyphosate in it.
